- How does one shortcut format itself for different apps?
- You write a shortcut once and mark what's bold, a title, or a link. Shortiz renders it for wherever you paste: WhatsApp gets *asterisks*, LinkedIn and Instagram get the ๐ฏ๐ผ๐น๐ฑ unicode glyphs (the only bold those apps allow), Markdown gets ** and #, and plain is plain. One shortcut, formatted right on each.
- Does Shortiz know which app I'm in?
- No โ iOS never tells a keyboard which app it's in, for privacy. So you pick the target yourself: a pill on the keypad you tap once, and it remembers. Switching is one tap. It's fast, and it's honest โ nothing is guessing behind your back.
- Is Shortiz free?
- Yes. Shortiz is free at launch โ no subscription and no paywall on the core loop: build a shortcut, tap it, it drops in formatted for the app you chose. If paid extras ever exist they'll be Apple in-app purchases, and the core loop stays free.
- Does Shortiz need Full Access?
- Only for the Clips category โ the recent-clipboard one. Your shortcuts and the per-platform formatting work without any special permission. On iOS, no keyboard can read the clipboard until you turn on Allow Full Access in Settings, so Clips stays empty until you flip that switch yourself.
- Can a shortcut hold an image?
- Yes โ a shortcut can be text, an image, or both. iOS won't let any keyboard drop an image straight into a field, so Shortiz hands the image to your clipboard and you paste it; text drops in directly.
- Where do my shortcuts live?
- On your device โ nothing is uploaded, no iCloud, no server. Version 1 doesn't sync, so your shortcuts and clips stay on the phone you made them on. The honest trade: nothing leaves your phone, so nothing follows you to a new one.
- Is there an Android or Mac version?
- Not yet. Shortiz launches on iPhone. A Mac companion is the fast-follow, and Android comes when enough people ask for it. Version 1 also doesn't sync between devices โ shortcuts and clips stay on the phone you made them on.
